When I did Fat Transfer to the breast in 2019 with a world-renowned Dr at a BMI of 21, he told me to lose as much weight as possible because you can fit a lot more fat cells into the breast (and BUTT) this way as they are shrunk very small and if you gain weight later, great, and if you lose weight later, you won't lose nearly as much volume in your breast. If this is true, why are so many BBL Drs telling me I need to gain weight to get BBL? What is the logic in that?
Answer: BBL candidate Dear Carinne White, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: BBL Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Your prior BBL seems to have been done when you had a fair amount of fat in your flanks. Based on your photo, you may not have enough fat reserves to undergo another fat transfer. An in person evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon may help give you some insight. I hope this helps.

Answer: Gaining Weight for A BBL Thanks for your question. For a Brazilian butt lift you need to have enough fat to transfer to the buttocks. Liposuction is done to the upper and lower abdomen, the upper and lower back, and the flanks. Then, the fat is cleaned and only the most purest fat is injected into the buttocks. Based on your one picture and depending on your desired results, you may need to gain weight for optimal results. I recommend you schedule a consult for a proper evaluation. Make sure the surgeon you choose has extensive experience with Skinny BBLs and clean credentials. Always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Answer: Can someone please explain why most Brazilian Butt Lift surgeons want me to GAIN weight prior to surgery? Also great question. But who am I to question what a 'world renown' surgeon would say to a patient with a very low BMI, limited donor fat to transfer, to "lose" weight prior to surgery for transfer to BOTH buttock and breasts. Simple physiology: if not enough useable fat to transfer then the results would be limited! Maybe this 'world renown' surgeon was mis heard or made an error? But you need to gain weight to have acceptable results. Or combo with Sculptra injections in Composite BBL. You re a "skinny BBL' patient to begin with so limited results should be expected. Dr B out

Answer: Brazilian Buttock Lift This is a common misconception. You do not need to gain weight for your BBL. It is difficult to tell from the picture you provided, but if you are a good candidate (less than 5L of fat) for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD,FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
