I’m wondering if I it matters if I get my nose job before braces or not. Since I’m not really interested in waiting. I’m Female, late/mid teens. I have over crowding and a overjet/bite that requires braces. As well as potential teeth pulling out. My overbite/ jet is 9 mm at most. But it varies due to overcrowding. My upper teeth do not cover my lower teeth a lot, it not a deep bite.
Answer: Brace and rhinoplasty Shouldn’t make a difference. If you need actual jaw advancement surgery then do that before the rhino.

Answer: Braces This shouldn't make too much difference to nose surgery but it really depends on your consultation with your surgeon and orthodontist.

Answer: Braces and Rhinoplasty Good question! Although the braces themselves are not an issue for rhinoplasty, there are 2 considerations. The first is to plan the braces treatment so as to avoid an extensive work at least 1-2 weeks prior to surgery, or several weeks after surgery. The main concern here is to avoid excessive swelling, infections, or accidental injury to the nose. The second consideration is to make sure that braces alone are the required treatment for an adequate, long lasting result, and that Oro maxillofacial surgery is not required. Certain alignment issues (occlusion issues) can only be partially or temporarily treated with braces. I have seen some orthodontists still do braces, knowing the success rate is low, and additional braces will be needed down the line. It is a good idea to ask how reliable the correction will be, and if jaw surgery should be considered. At that point you can learn about jaw surgery and decide if it is right for you. Upper jaw surgery (maxillary le forte 1) will alter nasal appearance. Hope that helps!

Answer: Consider getting your braces placed first. The order really doesn't matter, however, if you are going to have extensive work on the inside of your mouth having braces placed, We would not want there to be any incidental injuries to your nose. Great question, and I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty operation and braces Hello! Thank you for your question. You can start your braces treatment before the rhinoplasty / or after. Both are ok.Anyway, please keep in mind that we recommend you to wait at least for 3 months post-rhinoplasty surgery to get the braces, just to avoid any risk to hit your nose when the braces are installed. Best regards!
