Such a smooth and great experience! All my questions were always answered and I went into my operation knowing I had made an excellent choice in my surgeon. Dr Michael Philips has improved the appearance and breathing capacity in my nose giving me back my confidence. The whole team were lovely and supportive throughout my procedure.
I had a septorhinoplasty procedure with Dr Michael to improve the function and appearance of my nose. Being my first ever surgery I was naturally very nervous, but Dr Michael went above and beyond to ease any anxieties I had about the procedure. My consultations never felt rushed and he was more than happy to answer all of my questions. The procedure and recovery was much easier than I anticipated and the hospital staff were amazing. My breathing has improved far better than I ever expected. I no longer feel out of breath and congested all of the time. I am extremely happy with the natural aesthetic outcome of my nose, I feel like this was the nose I was supposed to have all along and it truly suits my face now. I highly recommend Dr. Michael if you are looking to have a rhinoplasty procedure!
Dr Michael was incredibly thorough and explained the risks and expected outcomes in a lot of detail. As an anxious person he made the whole process a lot more bearable. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to have this procedure.
I am now at 1 year since the procedure and most of the swelling has gone down. My nose had suffered a bad break and as a result had become misshaped around the bridge. Additionally there was a degree of septum deviation and I was having breathing difficulties as one side would collapse in when inhaling. The result from Dr Michael is exactly how I wanted it to be - simply how my nose was supposed to be, functionally and in appearance. It has not created a stark noticeable change but looks great all round and well matched to my face.
I have to say that from the initial time I met Dr.Michael I felt so comfortable and I knew immediately that I will have him undertake the procedure. He has been so helpful from the outset, explained everything in detail and was always very responsive and accommodating. He truly is amazing in this line of work as he is so passionate to help others improve their functionality or appearance.
My experience with Dr. Michael has been fantastic. Dr. Michael has a wonderful bedside manner, is incredibly thorough, kind and extremely approachable. He allows significant time to ask questions and understand the procedure/s in detail. Never once did he rush an appointment and organised 3 long appointments prior to my Rhinoplasty to ensure I was comfortable and happy with the surgery. His compassion and care for his patients is truly outstanding. Dr. Michael uses photography to show patients the changes aimed for in Surgery, which is a fantastic visual for patients. On the day of surgery, Dr. Michael had a wonderful surgical team including a fantastic Anaesthetist who was calming and caring. He also has a lovely administration team who are very helpful with any questions/queries regarding payments/appointments etc. Dr. Michael was incredibly thoughtful post surgery, visiting in recovery and at the bedside, he also followed up at home with a phone call and has made multiple post op appointments to ensure I am recovering well. So far, my recovery has been great - Overall I have had minimal pain, just bruising and swelling which I was expecting. Dr. Michael provides you with a range of recovery skin care, creams and nasal flushes to help with the healing. I would recommend Dr. Michael time and time again to anyone. He has made such a difference already to how I feel in regards to my breathing. Dr. Michael always ensured he would try his best to help me breathe better and I can truly say he has achieved this and I am just over 1 week post my Open Septorhinoplasty and Bilateral Turbinoplasty.
I have every confidence in Mr. Michael. He is an absolute professional; thorough explanations, a warm personality, and expert knowledge. My initial consultation was a real pleasure. Mr. Michael was very careful to make thorough notes about my concerns and quick to offer some possible outcomes. I had every confidence with the notion of proceeding with surgery and all aspects were well explained. My surgery was performed in late December 2020 and already (less than 6 months later), I am so happy with my breathing and also the appearance of the nose. The area where rib was harvested has healed beautifully also.
Dr Michael was fantastic for beginning to end. From pre-surgery all the way through he was very honest and caring and made sure I understood everything that he and his team were doing for me. This is my second operation with Dr Michael and both times he was nothing short of exceptional.
My experience with Dr. Michael was nothing but the best! I was in the best hands, and my results are better than anything I could have dreamed of. Coming into this, I was nothing but anxious and nervous. It has always been something I have felt I needed. After several consultations, everything started to become so real and before I knew it the surgery was complete.. and it was the road to recovery. After watching hundreds of youtube vlogs of individuals going through the rhinoplasty process, I thought it was going to be one scary experience. Instead, I was in no pain (just slight discomfort), and after 6-7 days I was back to my regular self. Getting my cast off will have to go down as the best day ever! The pure joy and excitement I felt was incredible. I felt an instant sense of confidence and self-love that I never thought I would be able to find. 6 weeks later, I am over the moon. Not only has the appearance changed, but my nose internally has never been better, and my life has changed in such a positive way. I am so excited to see what the next 6-12 months has in store!
I could not be happier with the results and the overall treatment that I received with Dr Michael. From the moment I went for my first consultation he made me feel at ease, encouraged me to think about the procedure and have other consultations and was very upfront. After waiting around a year to save up, I booked my appointment. He scheduled me on a weekend for the first appointment in the morning so I could get it out of the way and go home same day. He did everything he could to ensure I had the most non-invasive procedure possible, while still getting the results I wanted (and fixing up my breathing too). I’ve attached a before and after, which is still very swollen after 6 weeks, but I love how I still look like myself, just a little fresher and more lifted. I can’t wait to see how it looks in 6 months to a year when it reduces in size even more. If you were considering getting a rhinoplasty with Dr Michael, I would say go for it!!
Many thanks for your question If it is solely the bump that concerns you and if this is due to the underlying structure of the nose such as a prominence of the nasal bone which is most likely as you mention that it has always been that way, then this would be a relatively straightforward procedure which can be undertaken as a closed rhinoplasty and should achieve an improved outcome. However, if the bump is due to an issue with your skin then there may be non-surgical solutions that could help. The cost will be dependent upon local costings and the experience of your practitioner. Best Wishes
Many thanks for your enquiry Revision cases can always be performed. They can be challenging owing to the presence of issues such as scar tissue and do have the potential for correcting one issue but generating another. Revision cases carry a lower success rate than primary cases. Hence, a balance should be considered. If there were significant concerns, revision would be a reasonable avenue but if you are 90% satisfied, the risks entailed may outweigh the incremental benefit that you are wishing for. Best wishes
Many thanks for your enquiry, Alar retraction can potentially occur when the lower lateral (alar) cartilages that help to form the shape of the nostrils are reduced in size to in turn help to help shape the nasal tip. In your photos, the right side does appear to have retracted more than the left. There is a potential to lower these by adding graft material to the nostril "rims" via incisions on the inside of the nose. However, this would be better undertaken with someone specialising in rhinoplasty procedures rather than a generalist Best Wishes
Many thanks for you enquiryIt is possible to reuse graft material but you may still have insufficient graft material as with the lateral crural tensioning technique, the alar cartilages (that help make up the shape of the nostrils) are repositioned onto a midline support at the nasal tip and also benefit from additional grafts placed to support the alar cartilages. This support can be taken from the septum but if you have had prior surgery, it is likely that there will be insufficient material and you would require grafts taken from elsewhere. Whilst ear cartilage can be used, I find that this does not have sufficient strength as a support structure and hence your own cartilage or donor cartilage would be better. Finally, we would generally tension both sides to help with symmetry and function. However, an alternative consideration which is much less invasive is an alar strut graft (that can be placed via incisions inside the nostrils) or a Latera implant. Best WishesPhilip Michael
Many thanks for your enquiry The middle portion of the nose is mainly composed of cartilage with bone making up the top part of the nose. As such slimming the middle section is not as simple and even though your query is of achieving a minimal change, this can often still entail a complex procedure if undertaken to preserve stability and long-term nasal function. An in person consultation with someone experienced in rhinoplasty would likely be your first step but the cost can vary significantly depending upon the experience of the surgeon as well as the degree of surgery required and can be between 10 to several 10's of thousands of dollars even for minimal changes as these would need to be undertaken to preserve the natural form.
