I'm not sure if I am able to reply to any of the answers to my original post. The doctor keeps telling me that I can keep wearing the dilator and I will see results. I'm not wearing for breathing, it's to "fix" the collapsed nostril. I had my rhinoplasty in August of 2022 -hump of the back was reduced. -structuring with cartilage grafts of the nasal septum itself -septal extensor was used -skin thin to intermediate -ultrasonic technique.
Answer: Based on your photos, you may have a deviated nasal septum and a poly beak. Unfortunately, polly beak deformities and deviated nasal septa need to be corrected surgically. A polly beak is when the cartilage portion of your bridge, just above your tip, Protrudes from your face further than your nasal tip. The base view of your nose appears to show a deviated nasal septum into the left side causing an irregularity and nostril asymmetry. Based on your narrative, please consider getting a second opinion from another reputable rhinoplasty specialist so you could see what might be best for you moving forward. I hope this is helpful. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: There's a good plan to solve your concerns. Main Issues: You're looking to address a supratip hump, drooping tip, caudal septal deviation, and weak alar rim. Suggested Plan: Supratip Hump Reduction: Smooth out the bridge by carefully removing excess bone/cartilage for a more even profile. Tip Projection Enhancement: Elevate and refine the tip using ear or rib cartilage grafts for improved projection and balance. Alar Rim Reinforcement: Strengthen the weak alar rim with a graft to enhance symmetry and structure. Caudal Septal Correction: Adjust the septum's position to improve breathing and overall nasal alignment. This tailored approach should effectively address your concerns, resulting in a harmonious and natural outcome. Discussing your goals openly with your surgeon will ensure the plan aligns with your expectations. Best of luck!

Answer: Short nose and collapsed nostril Hi there! You may have a residual caudal septal deviation which is why the nostril cartilage (medial crural footplate) is pushed more into the nostril creating a "smaller" nostril. You may have lost some projection or the caudal septal extension graft may have shifted leading to a "short nose."

Answer: Short nose and collapsed nostrils after Rhioplasty Thank you for your query. The tissues of the nose are still settling down and wearing a dilator may be helpful at this time. Please follow your surgeon’s instructions and once a full year has passed, from the date of your surgery, and you still have some concerns, your surgeon will be able to address those. All the best!
