Question

Did otoplasty 1,5 years ago and have almost regret it because my ears got a bit uneven. Is it ever possible to fix them to look some better. They are not the same shape but do you think it still is possible? It is the right ear I don’t like

It is possible to get revision surgery to improve symmetry, however it would be important to let your surgeon know what issues you’d like to correct. Is it their size? The amount they project from your head? The shape of your upper ears? Being as specific as possible helps your surgeon understand your goals, allowing them to determine whether surgery would be effective for you.

Earlobe repair is a common procedure in our plastic surgery office. I employ a technique that involves removing the excess scar tissue and reapproximating the tissue planes in multiple layers to recontour the earlobe after gauges, torn earlobes, or stretched out earlobes. Sometimes, the same procedure is used to restore contour to a pixie ear after facelift surgery or facial surgery. Gauge correction is a popular treatment. Insurance typically does not cover the procedure in California, but it all depends on your insurance policy. Costs are typically between six hundred dollars and one thousand dollars depending on the complexity of the repair. Pixie ear repair involves correction of the facelift flap and is a more complex procedure that requires anesthesia. Aftercare for earlobe repair involves proper wound care, Plato’s Scar Serum at least twice daily, with repiercing of the earlobe if requested, in 6 weeks. It is best to have a plastic surgeon perform the procedure and help with scars in the post-procedure period. Plato’s Scar Serum, wound care, and Neosporin are used.

Based on your front view, photos, both of your ears appear to protrude a bit far. Your antihelical folds appear to be normal. If your conchal bowls are a bit deep, another attempt to consult setback may be considered for a less distracting ear appearance. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr. Joseph.

It appears that the angle of one antihelix is different than the other and this could be corrected by a repeat otoplasty on the side with the greater angle.
