I had 300ccs of fat transfered to my breasts about 8 weeks ago. I started at an A and I'm about a large B now. I'm still wanting larger breasts however. I'm guessing my wonderful plastic surgeon will inject another 300ccs again. Do you think I'll achieve a permant large c from this, or is that unrealistic?
Answer: Breast fat transfer Thank you for your question. It sounds about right that you gained about a cup size after your first session of fat transfer. The second time around you should be able to gain another cup size or so but usually not more than that. The outcome also depends on a lot of factors: age, quality of fat, smoking status, surgeon's way of processing and injecting fat etc. I usually perform the second session of fat transfer at about 6 months' time at the earliest after the first session to make sure that the volume has stabilized and to allow time for your body to heal. I'm glad you are enjoying your results so far. Best wishes!Goretti H. Taghva MD

Answer: Breas I appreciate your question I perform a natural breast augmentation with fat. This can be removed from any unwanted areas including the breast itself as part of my lipo-lift procedure. I perform the fat grafting in multiple planes including under the muscle to give the best, most natural enhancement. Fat grafting is a great solution for someone who wants to bring their breast size up a cup or so and use natural tissue vs an implant. However, it can also be combined with an implant or used as a secondary procedure to fill in areas that are flat or thin. It should not affect nipple sensation, mammograms, cancer risk or breast feeding. It can be a little lump or hard at first but tends to soften over time. If you gain or lose weight, the transferred fat can do the same. About 60-70% of the grafted fat survives. At 6 months you will have a good idea of your results. Some women have a second or third procedure which continues to increase your volume safely. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic breast plastic surgery. Best of luck! Dr. Schwartz Board Certified Plastic Surgeon #RealSelf100Surgeon #RealSelfCORESurgeon

Answer: Fat transfer to breasts It sounds as if you increased one cup size after having had 300 cc of fat injected. We typically estimate an increase of 200 cc in volume equates to a size increase of one cup. Therefore, it is certainly possible that a second injection session will increase you about the same amount as the first fat injection and move you into C cup range.

Answer: Fat Transfer to Breasts Fat grafting has the advantage of using your own body's material to increase breast size, but only small augmentation is possible and it is just gaining popularity and long term results are not yet available. There is always uncertainty about how much fat will "take", increasing the possibility of asymmetry and need for revision. Many plastic surgeons are still concerned about how the fat that did not take looks on mammograms, and if it will increase long term false positive results. You may want to consider implants, as results are more reliable. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to help you navigate this decision. Good Luck!

Answer: Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation: Fat Survival Great question, and it deals with the reasons why the results around the country and the world differ so much. The Key Points are:It is important to understand the principles behind fat graft survival. The best analogy is the person that is driving a Ferrari on a congested highway. The fat graft is the Ferrari, and your breast is the congested highway. Does not matter how great your car is, if it will be sitting still in the highway. The highway needs to be bigger. Your breasts need to be prepared to best accept the amount of fat graft required for the size you would like to achieve. External Tissue Expansion devices like BRAVA stretches your breast tissues (even after fat grafting) and increases its vascularity to generate a favorable recipient bed for the fat grafts. This key step is critical for women like you that would like to be much larger, and will certainly help you increase even two cup sizes with one session of fat grafting. The required amount of sessions depends upon the relative amount of tissue deficiency or excess, and the patient’s compliance with external expansion prior to grafting. There are other techniques that can help enlarge your breasts such as a reverse abdominoplasty (done at the same time as fat grafting, without incisions), which brings tissue from the upper parts of your abdomen into your lower breasts. This technique can bring by it self about 200 cc of tissue, and will also help sculpt your abdomen and waist.Fat transfer breast augmentation represents a phenomenal incisionless technique, which is safe, and minimally invasive. Hope this helps!
