What treatment would you recommend for my hollow temples? (photos)

1 treatment of sculptra will not help your temples, you need a series of vials to get a final result.  I would keep to your course and if you are with a well trained sculptra expert, you will see improvement.  If you will not continue, then Radiesse in my opinion is the second best when it is put deep onto the bone and then perlane or voluma superficially.  Find someone who specializes in this.  Best, Dr. Emer.

We achieve our very best results not with Sculptra, which is effective but temporary, but with autologous fat fascial grafts.  In the majority of patients, these grafts are permanent.  They come from the patient's own tissues and are fully viable when they are placed.Many doctors achieve very nice results with fat injection as well.Because the area is hollowness is deceptively large, considerable amounts of Sculptra are often required for an adequate result.

It is very common for sculptra to require 2-3 sessions fill the temporal hollows.  It would be unusual to get it perfect after the initial injection (unlike other fillers).  Usually, these injections are done at 1 month intervals.  I think its fine for you to have another filler injected at this point if you would like further filling.  Some of the better options include Radiesse, Voluma (1-2 years) and bone filler (permanent).  All the best!

Hi Jastran.  Your situation is a common one.  We love Sculptra for the temples, but Perlane is a much more immediate effect and lasts about 9 -12 months.  We use both products commonly and both work very well, but much more patience and investment is required for Sculptra.  We would likely recommend 1 CC per temple to start.  To see a great example of before and after pictures for Perlane in the temples for one of our Stanton, CA patients, click the link below.  

Many different fillers can be used in the temple hollows, most of which like Juvederm, Restylane, and Radiesse will give you instant results, often lasting for 1 year or more. Best to speak with your dermatologist about the best choice for you.

Treating the hollows that you have in the temples can be accomplished by several different fillers and we always recommend that you have a consultation and the treatments done by a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon as these groups are the most knowledgeable in the use of fillers, the anatomy of the area, and how to best maximize the results of the various fillers. We really like Sculptra in this area – and this will require a series of injections usually done 4-6 weeks apart to achieve acceptable results. Scultpra works by having the poly-L-lactic acid work under your skin to create new collagen. Once the process has occurred, the results one can have can last for up to two years in many patients that are treated. You should have been told this in advance that multiple treatments would be needed and that this would work over time.Other fillers work well here. Radiesse, calcium hydroxyapetite, also works well in this region when injected by a very skilled injector. Radiesse results can last for one to one and a half years in many. Other patients will choose the hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Restylane or Perlane, Juvederm, or even Belotero. The results are immediate, and they can last for up to one year in many.You need to have the right injector, understand the different products, and chose the one that is right for you.

Hi,Temples are a great area to use filler on.  By far the most common filler that I use is Sculptra, but it takes approximately three months to see a full result and almost always requires two-three sessions.  Hyaluronic Acid fillers (e.g. Juverderm and Restylane are also frequently used and you get instant gratification (see the results immediately).  Good luck!

Sculptra is great for the temple area, but requires more than one session and takes several months to see the final result.  Fillers can be used in that area for a more immediate result, but doesn't last as long as Sculptra.
