I have McGahn 68 saline implants under the muscle. My incision was under the breast. I had my proceedure done 2004 after breastfeeding 3 children. I recently had another child since getting my implants. I noticed the other day my right implant had ruptured and completely deflated. I had 550 cc in the right and 570cc in the left. The right side is causing pain down my arm, up my neck and jaw, and the breast is sensitive as well. I recently been diagnosed with hashimotos and fibromyalgia.
Answer: Explant surgery hashimotos and fibromyalgia Due to breastfeeding and due to the hashimotos and fibromyalgia is not a current candidate. I would say that you need to see your treating Doctor for hashimotos and fibromyalgia before being cleared for surgery.

Answer: Can I get explant surgery of under muscle saline implant while continuing breastfeeding? Your PS should be able to evaluate the cause for your pain. He/she, along with your OB/GYN, and PCP treating your fibromyalgia and hashimoto's disease can determine if the implants are the source of your discomfort or if there another explanation. If necessary, the implants can probably be removed under local anesthesia. Implant removal should not adversely impact your ability to continue breastfeeding.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Implant removal Your case is unique. You should be able to remove your implant at this time, but if you are having pain an examination is needed to help determine the cause. It may be that your capsules need to be removed as well. I recommend meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area for a consultation to determine if you should proceed with surgery at this time.

Answer: Surgery Considering the implant is behind the muscle, removal of the implant while breastfeeding shouldn't be a problem, however this may still be a risk. I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with. Finally, make sure your surgeon is a Double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).Best,Dr. DesaiBeverly Hills Institute for Aesthetic Plastic SurgeryHarvard Educated, Beverly Hills & Miami Beach TrainedDouble Board-Certified, Double Fellowship-Trained Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Implant removal Dear Autumn N,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination but generally speaking, implant removal under local anesthesia might be an option. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon.
