Ibuprofen is one of a category of drugs called "non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs", otherwise known as NSAIDS. They are very useful after laser treatments and other procedures. Ibuprofen is awonderful anti-inflammatory medication and we use it pretty regularly for avariety of procedures that are done in the office. You did not tell us whatkind of procedure you had done and that would be very helpful here. Every sooften, if a patient has swelling following a procedure, we might give one asteroid shot or even use a topical strong steroid for a few days if needed. Again,knowing the type of procedure would be helpful.
