Silhouette Soft bidirectional cones are implanted fully resorbable sutures and the post treatment recommendations of avoiding excessive face and neck movements and avoiding high impact sports are to avoid dislodging of the cones
Dear Stokkies,Thank you for your question. We typically advise patients to refrain from heavy lifting and strenuous activity for 2 weeks after the procedure, as this is the most immediate process of healing with the sutures taking in to the tissue. Otherwise, the downtime and recovery from this procedure is much less compared to a facelift.
Thank you for your question. InstaLifthas absorbable lift sutures that tighten the skin and stimulate collagen asthey dissolve over time. I usually recommend patients to stay away fromstrenuous activity for at least 2 weeks so the sutures can settle in the face. For more information, I recommend getting a in person consultation from aboard-certified dermatologist.
it is to err on the side of safety. the less jostling of your face the better chance of maintaining good results. it takes about 2 weeks to incorporate the sutures into the tissue.
Great question! Placement of the Silhouette threads causes the tissues to be lifted and suspended through the thread and attached cones "catching on" the tissues. It is possible that vigorous exercise such as jogging could cause enough movement of the facial tissues to allow the cones to slip and lose the lifted effect. After 2-3 weeks, the threads/cones have attached securely enough that this is not a problem. Best wishes, Mary Beth Mudd
Dear Stokkies:The use of Silhouette InstaLift Sutures produces an: Immediate physical compressing and lifting effect on the subcutaneous tissues it is threaded through, and Lifts the adhered tissues by contraction during the formation of collagen stimulated by the poly-L-lactic acid molecule the thread is made from. In its simplest technique, the linear vector chosen to pull or lift tissues of the face is the direction these actions will occur. Made of a thin suture with knots holding cone-shaped anchors, the needle is passed through a puncture in the skin and threaded in opposing directions for the anchors to engage on the web of fibers holding the skin, fat and underlying muscle together. Pulling the Silhouette suture in the desired direction will compress and engage the anchors through the fibrous web lifting the tissues and with time, cause further firming and collagen scaring with its inherent tissue tightening. Knowledge of this controlled inflammatory process of healing, cautions the Artist/Surgeon that it takes no less than 2 to 3 weeks before the Silhouette sutures are set in place with little risk of relapse. Should you more simply place the sutures for the poly-L-lactic acid or limited Sculptra effects without mechanical lift, then movement can occur 24 hours following their placement. I hope this is helpful. All the best!
This is not uncommon due to the insertion points of the thread. The ideal treatment the clinician is able to go in and out of the same injection point to minimize the dimpling. However, this might not be the case every time. The dimpling is temporary and does resolve over the next three weeks....
Bumps can be typical for a short period of time after a Silhouette, especially with people withthin skin. I recommend returning to the person who performed the procedure for a second lookand reassurance.
This is a good question! One thing that is important to note is if the dimpling occurred from thread placement or from the threads themselves. Usually in our office we see the patient back in two weeks and the threads have settled down. However, in certain select cases it may...
