Hello and thank you for your questions about your nose and your photo. A rhinoplasty along with a septoplasty can help improve your nose issues. A septoplasty can help straighten your septum — the cartilage separating the two sides of your nose — and open up your air passage. You will most likely need to have your nose broken again in order to straighten it. In addition, bone and cartilage grafts may be necessary to help straighten your nose. Only an in-person consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon can determine exactly which combination of procedures will best address your needs. Since your accident inhibits your ability to breathe, at least part of the costs for your procedures could be covered by insurance. Good luck with your procedures! - Jacqueline T. Cheng, MD
Your frontal photo shows a wide nasal appearance and an indentation along your left bridge causing a crooked appearance. A consultation with several rhinoplasty specialists may be helpful for answering your concerns about what needs to be performed to best suit your needs. Good luck! Dr Joseph
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Based onyour photographs, you may benefit from septoplasty with spreader grafts to help straighten your nose and improve your breathing. Depending on your insurance provider, this may be covered by your insurance. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Thanks for your question. I see a lot of this sort of thing. You'll need a couple of things to straighten your nose and fix your breathing. You could call it a nose job, but officially you'd need a septoplasty and "open reduction of a nasal fracture." Basically that means we'll rebreak your nose. Don't worry you'd be asleep for it! As far as the cost, if you have health insurance, usually it will cover a portion of the cost, since this isn't cosmetic for you. Hope this helps! Good luck!
A rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish straightening the crooked nose. This usually requires osteotomies placed in the nasal bones, and a spreader graft composed of the patient's own cartilage placed in the midportion of the nose underneath the concave cartilage on that side.
