How much is round Sientra Silicone cost per pair ? Why some doctors said $2000 (east coast) ...some doctor said $1000 (west coast)....why there is a big different between the price. I thought the Silicone itself should cost the same ...it doesn't matter where..

Answer: Silicone implants cost Dear Rosess, I do not use Sientra implants, but as a general rule, silicone implants cost 3 times more than saline implants. So why use silicone implants ? With saline implants a small incision can be made under the areola where as a large silicone implant requires long incision in the submammary fold which can give a very unattractive scar. Forcefull push of the silicone implants into the pocket can weaken the shell and increase the likelihood of leakage. In the right experienced hands , saline implants are very natural and attractive. Consult with board certified plastic surgeons who do lots of saline implants surgery and check the before and after pictures to make sure that you like the results. Best of luck, Dr Widder

The companies do set the price per implant and will range from $600 to $1000 each, so $1200-$2000 per pair. Each surgeon is able to negotiate a price with the company based on how many they buy per month/quarter/year. This is why some doctors like myself who specialize in breast augmentation and operate in their own private facility can pay a lower price for the implants which in turn helps the patient save some money. Other surgeons who operate in a hospital are forced to pay what the hospital charges for the implants, which is usually 50% higher than the actual price. Your surgeon should be able to tell you what her/she pays for the implants. There doesn't seem to be a reason to hide it and it really shouldn't be a secret.
