What Size Sientra Silicone Implant Would Equal 275 Cc Mentor Round? (photo)

Thanks for your question and pics. I'm sure it is frustrating for you to have to have another surgery. The fluid dynamics of saline are different than silicone. As a result you have to overfill the saline implant to reduce rippling. This often leads to a more round and unnatural look. I usually use at least 25CC more in a new silicone implant when changing from saline. I'm not sure if your implant originally was 250 filled to 275CC or perhaps more. I agree that your newer implant looks more full. I probably would only go down to 300CC silicone in the moderate Sientra or the Moderate Plus in Mentor. Best of Luck!

Saline 275 cc implants are the volume of saline and doesn't account for the envelope but hat is a relatively small volume. To give you a visual, the 320 cc implants are only a shot glass or two at most larger. Other factors such as profile (e.g. high profile vs low, moderate or moderate plus profile) also make a big difference . Most importatant is to discusss this with your plastic surgeon or seek a second opinion.

Strictly speaking, 275 cc of saline is the same as 275 cc of gel because it is a volume measurement. However there is much more information that would be needed as well as an in-person examination to make a recommendation. The dimensions need to be taken into account, and if you are concerned about too much upper pole volume then a shaped (form-stable) implant that is wider than it is tall might be the answer. For example, the Sientra moderate projection oval base is 12.3 cm wide and 10.7 cm tall, compared to Mentor round saline at 12.3 cm. That way the base width is the same, which is important.

Getting back to a smaller size may require a lift in some patients. Best to be seen in person to be properly evaluated.

Maybe I am missing something but your posted photos demonstrate a very good natural result. Why undergo additional surgery? BTW the Sientra silicone in my opinion measures within 50 cc's + or - to saline.
