Hmm, well my nose lacks shape pretty much. It is basically a triangle on my face, while most other people's noses sides' to come in at the bottom (if that makes sense). Is there a way to "bring in" the sides of the nose by the nostrils? Also I feel like most people's nostrils are sort of triangular, while mine are shaped like squares. And they're not even symmetrical. What are some recommended procedures to feminize my nose/fix these problems? Thank you for your time!
Answer: Refining wide and rounded tip There are several ways of addressing the concerns you have with your nose. Refining the roundedness of your tip would likely go a long way in improving the fullness and shapelessness you're noticing. It is also possible to do a nostril reduction to narrow the overall width of the nose as well. You can read about bulbous tip rhinoplasty (and see some before and after photo examples) at my web reference link below.

Answer: The bulbous nasal tip Hi "mallories", In the case of a larger disproportionate nasal tip, it is important to reduce the size of the tip and also treat the poor definition of the tip. Interestingly, the poorly defined tip is the result of wider spaced tip cartilages but also poor support of the tip due to weakened cartilage. In these cases, I like to strengthen the tip and narrow it as well as re position the cartilages. I prefer to do this through an open approach in order to use sutures and also grafts as needed. I may also change the position of the lower cartilages. The most important principle in all of plastic surgery and especially in the nose is to give a balanced, natural result. We use a Vectra 3D imaging system in consultation to help show what potential results can look like. Please visit us for a more definitive discussion of your concerns.

Answer: Rhinoplasty for a more feminine nose. A rhinoplasty can remove excess cartilage from the tip of the nose and narrow the base width and nostrils. If you have a slight hump this can be filed down as well. If the skin is thick over the tip the tissue can be removed below the skin. See an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who does very natural noses to get a pretty an feminine nose.

Answer: Nose Shape Thank you for your question! The concerns you have for your nose are actually quite common, and something that we hear from patients who are investigating Rhinoplasty. In short, most (if not all) of your concerns can be addressed with and open septorhinoplasty. From your pictures, I believe that increasing your tip projection would help to give back shape, and will also help to give the base view a more triangular shape. This is only the first step, and you would need a full evaluation to know exactly what you would need.Your next step is to schedule a consultation with a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon or General Plastic surgeon, who specializes in Rhinoplasty.I hope that this helps!-David Gilpin

Answer: How can I make my wide, shapeless nose look more feminine? Traditional reduction rhinoplasty involves rasping of the dorsum, tip definition with elevation, and narrowing of the nasal base. Some patients benefit from alar reduction. Heavy or sebaceous skin over the tip may interfere with the ultimate result. The surgical maneuvers performed by the surgeon may not be noticeable because of the thick skin. This can be the problem in your case. Nonetheless, I believe you can have great improvement when surgery is performed by a skilled rhinoplasty surgeon
