I have rheumatoid arthritis and over the years have had many steroid courses for inflammation. Now I have a noticeable hump on the back of my neck that I'm really self conscious of. Is there anything I can do to reduce it's size? Is it just fat?

Answer: Are there any treatments (maybe lipo?) that can reduce a fatty hump on back of neck from medical steroid use? Liposuction of the buffalo hump is probably reasonable. Consult with a board certified PS to determine if this is the best treatment for you.

Answer: Back hump Dear El_J, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your description, it sounds like a liposuction might be the right choice. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
