Is liposuction safe for me? I had illegal butt injections 8 years ago

It’s been about 8 years since I received illegal butt injections. I have had no side effects since then. I am now considering lipo 360. Will the butt injections add any significant risks to getting lipo 360 done?

silicone and PMMA and derivatives can be removed with liposcution and lipo 360 performed at the same time.

my whole practice is doing lipoabdominoplasty, or at least liposuction with internal heating (which is not the gold standard for skin tightening with body contouring).

the smaller you are before liposuction the more contouring you can get from the procedure. most of my liposuction patients get pre and post surgical optimization with hormonal therapy (see link to help boost their weight loss before surgery and help them heal after).

You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best.  Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring.  Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods.  The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring.  This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face.  Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra.  If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty).  Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting.  Dr. Emer.

The density of these foreign materials is greater than the surrounding fat and thus liposuction removes fat without really addressing the substance. 
I see two or three patients a week who have had injections of something into their buttocks. Many times they are unsure of the product. Silicone may pose an unnecessary risk to fat transfer in this situation. In the past, I have cut these areas out and then fat grafted in the future. If the silicone has been injected in the distant past without difficulty, then fat transfer may be appropriate. However, the patient should understand that there is probably an increased risk of problems following the surgery

It is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, it is possible to get a liposuction after butt injections. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

As long as no liposuction is done in the butt area, you should be fine to have liposuction. However, you will need a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to see if you are a candidate for liposuction. Please avoid illegal medical procedures in the future. They are illegal for many reasons.

Yes but.... these crazy illegal injections are unpredicatble to effecting results. Plus higher rate of infections/abscesses. In fact right now going to start this on a patient with illegal silicine injections that became infected and drained and re BBL was attempted - poor outcomes. I am "fixing" her in few minutes. So very few surgeons offer redo.

Re-silicone injections can cause devastating complications years after.

Should the silicone get contaminated from the BBL you could be in big trouble.

I would not offer the procedure and would encourage you to leave good enough alone and not mess with this.

You may find plastic surgeons who have a less conservative approach.

Most likely you would do fine with the BBL but the worst case scenario can be pretty devastating.

The worst case I’ve seen was a woman who lost all of her soft tissue down to her gluteus muscle. She ended up with a skin graft over her gluteus muscle which isn’t a particularly good solution to be able to sit for the rest of your life.

since the liposuction is being done in a different area, your having butt injections should make no difference. 
i like Smartlipo since it is done under local in the office (with oral sedation) and you can return to work the next day.
