In the U.S. Navy, desiring Breast Augmentation. What is your experience with military members?

This is a great question and in my experience I have not seen any issues with breast augmentation on patients who are in the service, whether it has to do with recovery or with navigating the military system.  I do think it's important to give yourself enough time to recover, in particular when it comes to performance evaluations, but otherwise I do not see any obvious roadblock to having the procedure.

Thank you very much for your service for freedom.As a current Navy Medical Officer, I have extensive experience working with military members in the field of cosmetic surgery, And there are no restrictions for cosmetic surgeries in their holiday period.You should consider that you will need at least four weeks of rest after breast augmentation surgery.Ps.: Recovery after BAIn my practice, after performing a BA I recommend to my patients to limit the movement of the arms for two weeks. After that, you can move your arms taking care and always with common sense. In this regard, it's not advisable to carry weight to prevent the implant out of position, and allow the formation of the physiological capsule around the implant, also to avoid pain and breast swelling. Therefore, swimming and high performance sports, is usually released after 1.5-2 months of surgery.Finally, I recommend you always use a therapeutic bra.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Thank you for your question and thank you for your service.  As a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, I have had the privilege of caring for many patients who are currently serving in the armed forces.  My advice would be to plan your leave carefully in order to provide yourself the proper amount of time to heal.  Most breast augmentation patients can return to their normal lifestyle including exercise within 4-6 weeks following surgery. Best of luck,
