Answer: Age limits for elective cosmetic surgery Generally, there is no absolute minimum age for undergoing liposuction. The procedure can be safely performed on patients of a variety of ages for "medical" reasons.Cosmetic surgery is best reserved for adults of at least 18 years of age. This not only ensures legal consent but also a certain level maturity when it comes to appreciating the risks and benefits of any cosmetic procedure. The optimal candidate has reached a healthy stable weight and is hoping to treat or address an area or areas which have been resistant to diet and or exercise. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon.
