Lipo of little fat donut around bellybutton - Feasible? (Photo)

Question

5'8", 135lbs, exercise regularly. But even during my most "cut" periods, I always have a little ring of hard fat around my navel. I've read enough (and seen Tara Reid) to know that lipo on a stomach that doesn't have a lot of fat to begin with can be disastrous. So, is there a way to tell if I'm a good candidate for lipo of that small area? A particular type of lipo? I desperately don't want the cottage cheese look of botched lipo, but that little donut has bothered me for years. Thank you!

Liposuction can be great for those who find they are at an ideal weight, but can’t seem to get rid of stubborn fat in a specific area. There are many types of liposuction tools and techniques. Thanks for posting this question.  It can be very frustrating to exercise and make all of the right lifestyle choices and still be left stubborn fat deposits like you describe.  My first recommendation is to see a Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who can offer both surgical and non-surgical fat reduction.  First they will need to examine what you are describing as a ring of hard fat, to make sure that is what it really is.  Then they can discuss if very precisely performed liposuction using fine cannulas is likely to treat the area of concern without creating the problems that you are alluding to.  They can also assess you to see if non-surgical techniques like CoolSculpt or SculpSure would be safe and effective.  In any case, consulting with a well skilled and experienced Plastic Surgeon is the right place to start.
