How do BBL surgeons make sure that the thighs and butt match? Can they inject fat into the thighs? (Photo)

Question

I am fairly petite, 5'6" 135lbs, and I gain most of my weight in my back and abdomen area. I opted to add arm and inner thigh lipo, but some are saying that I should definitely NOT get inner thigh because my thighs are extremely skinny and will not match my new butt. I think the lipo will make the shape of my legs much more smooth and proportional. Should I be advised against it?

Thank you for your question. These photos are not useful to make an assessment and give you meaningful advice. BBL surgery is both a technical and an artistic operation. The body sculpting part is as important as the fat grafting part to give an hourglass figure. Often, the lateral-posterior thigh buttock junction needs to be fat grafted to give a natural transition in this area. Otherwise, the BBL will look like a popsicle on a stick (thighs). In this regard, I recommend you waist and back Liposculpture, getting better curves especially in the waist, improving your body contour.

Finally, I suggested take the fat we get and transfer to the buttocks and hips, to mold them and get better volume, contour and butt projection, is that we know as "Brazilian Butt Lift" (BBL).

Hello, "Matching" may mean different things to different people. An aesthetically pleasing leg has good contour, smooth unbroken curves. The photos do not show your thighs but keep that in mind when you decide. Best of luck.

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Hello, thank you for your question. The simple answer to your question is yes it is possible to transfer fat to the thighs , as fat can be harvested and transferred to any number of areas of the body., but it needs to be done judiciously and with a view of the entire contour of the leg, waist, and hips as a whole. For that I would recommend going with a board certified plastic surgeon with a lot of experience.

The time to do your research is before your scheduled surgery.

If you want us to make an assessment in regards to your candidacy for surgery you need to post proper pictures.

Proper pictures are taken from about 10 feet away with someone else taking the picture or using the timer on your camera. Wear undergarments. The picture should be taken in the natural standing position from the front, side and back.

Pictures wearing bulky sweaters and jeans are not useful.

Inner thighs can be a good source of fat but I don’t think you are at risk for not having enough fat for a BBL.

Inner thigh liposuction results are often less than patients had hoped for and the area is prone to contour irregularities when done by providers who have insufficient skill or experience.

Most of my BBL patients have fat grafted onto the thigh. It depends on the body proportions of each individual patient. Sometimes more than half of the fat is grafted into the thigh and hip area.

Personally I do these procedures with my patients awake laying on their side. This exposes Their side profile ideally for contour manipulation.

I suggest you contact your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns with him or her.
