Is Sculptra injected with a cannula or a needle? Thinking of getting the treatment. Can it be used in the neck area?

either can be used, the neck area tends to get bumps in It and I wouldnt suggest sculptra there but would do morpheus and dermarolling ath ome with In office lasers and at home peels like enlighten or aerify.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Sculptra could be injected with a cannula or a needle.  The preference of the injector would determine which method would be used.  Sculptra can be injected into the neck area.

Thank you for your question. I prefer to inject Sculptra with a cannula unless trying to create a cross hatch pattern in which a needle is a better option. The injection technique used is going to be at the preference of the injector and the circumstances. Both techniques are acceptable.

It can be done with needle or cannula, and the comfort level the injector feels with which one is chosen is important to take into consideration. 
Specifically in the neck and in other areas where one is wanting to make the skin smoother and less "flimsy," one wants to use the Hyperdilute Sculptra....and in the neck I personally advocate using a cannula. 
To follow the procedure a month or two later with another collagen-producing treatment, such as microneedling with radiofrequency or Ultherapy, will give you a much enhanced result. Taking in at least 1000mg vitamin C each day for 2-4 months after Sculptra injections has also been found to optimize the results. And yet another great add-on to optimize results is the Celluma medical-grade LED system, the world's most awarded medical LED light device (and the results you get are the reason it has that title!), made right here in America (Anaheim, CA).

Thank you for your question! We inject sculptra into the lower cheek area with the use of a cannula. We do not use sculptra in the neck area, however if you are looking to tighten up the neck and build collage in that area you should look into Thermage. Thermage is a radiofrequency heat based procedure that helps stimulate collagen growth in the face and neck. Thermage also pairs extremely well with Sculptra. Hope this helps!

Sculptra is an amazing bio-stimulatory filler that can be used in a variety of ways. It is highly dependent upon the provider and their technique, that determines the route of administration (needle vs. cannula). I personally prefer using a needle, since there is a degree of fanning involved. Sculptra can be used on the neck and décolletage in a diluted mixture. You want to make sure whoever you choose for the procedure has extensive experience injecting Sculptra. Best of luck to you!

I prefer to inject Sculptra using a needle, as I feel it does not inject well via cannula. I also prefer to use hyperdiluted Radiesse injected more superficially in the neck, verses Sculptra.  This is not to add volume, it is to provide skin tightening, it acts primarily as a biostimulator to address concerns related to skin texture, fine wrinkles, and crepiness.

Sculptra can be injected with needle or cannula - I prefer needle on the face and I use a cannula if treating the neck /decollete or buttocks. The dilution for these areas is different and evaluation of the neck with consultation is advised.

The small crystals in the suspension of Sculptra can easily be injected into a blood vessel using a needle causing necrosis or tissue death.
