I had my saline breast implants drained and the explanted (425-450cc) after having them 15 years.. It’s been three months and the cleavage area still has folds and seems uneven. My surgeon suggested waiting until 6 months to see how they have healed . I am not as pleased with the outcome as I had hoped . Is it likely that they will change much from 3 months post op to 6 months ?

Answer: Revision after breast implant removal and mastopexy In my practice, we like for patients to wait at least 6 months for any type of revisional surgery since there can still be layers of swelling. In addition, after implant removal, there can be a seroma (or fluid pocket) where the implant used to live. If there is a seroma, then the breasts may look fuller than they actually will be long term. But the reality is that there are some patients that are disappointed after implant removal and mastopexy because they miss the upper pole fullness that the breast implant gave. Doing a mastopexy alone does not give upper pole fullness. So part of a plastic surgeon's job to to help with realistic expectations for results after this type of surgery.
