What is an internal bra and when It could be used with a breast lift? Can this be used with a lollipop incision?
Answer: For what grade ptosis is an internal bra (mastopexy) good for? Photos would be beneficial in providing a response. True Grade 1 ptosis is usually amenable to augmentation alone if there is no pseudoptosis. Breast lift results will depend upon a great number of factors including the support that helps suspend the breast.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Los Angeles, CA

Answer: Internal bra An internal bra is added support to sagging or thin breast tissue with mesh. This is very helpful in women who have large implants and have thinned and stretched from the weight. Most lifts do not need this unless there is a fair amount of breast tissue present.

Answer: What is an internal bra? Hi and welcome to our forum! The internal bra is often used in conjunction with a breast lift procedure if the breasts sag and are of significant size or there has been "bottoming out" of a previously placed breast implant. A synthetic mesh is sutured internally and provides extra support to the lower poles of the breasts. It can be utilized in all grades of ptosis but is more likely required in severely involved breasts.Discuss this issue with your plastic surgeon.Best wishes...

Answer: For what grade ptosis is an internal bra (mastopexy) good for? Thank you for the question. Semantics can be confusing; for example, the "internal bra" terminology has been used differently by different surgeons. In our practice, the "internal bra" refers to maneuvers utilized ( generally during REVISIONARY breast augmentation surgery) to better support the breast implants in appropriate position. These maneuvers may include adjustment of the breast capsules (capsulorraphy) and/or the use of acellular matrix or biosynthetic mesh. The "internal bra" can be especially helpful when patients are experiencing breast implant displacement problems ( such as bottoming out or lateral displacement). I hope this helps. Best wishes.

Answer: The Bellesoma Breast Lift I never recommend the lollipop or anchor technique because of the ugly vertical scars, loss of nipple sensation and the inability to breast feed. Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs or told us your bra size. However, the technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed are maintained. At the same time or later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
