Question

I had a breast lift and enlargement in September 2023. The implants used were mentor Johnson’s and Johnson’s and they were 515cc under the muscle. At my 2 week check up the nurse said my incision was very deep and was bleeding, I had to go back every second day to have it redressed. I’ve have been to my 3 month check up and I’ve told the surgeon I’m not happy as my breast were better before surgery. They look flat,square,saggy and point south

Hi, sorry to hear that you have been through a difficult time following your surgery. It is difficult to ascertain the problem purely based on photographs alone, but it is likely that there is a combination of problems here; implant malposition and an uplift procedure that has not taken into account the dimensions of the implant. As a result, your breasts appear top heavy with the nipple appearing low as it is not central on the implant. A face to face consultation could help diagnose the problem more accurately determine how this could be remedied with surgery.

The anchor pattern lift with 550 cc implants did not create significant reshaping or elevation to your breasts, which is typical of the anchor pattern. If your volume is too great, then you need smaller implants or eliminate them completely. You also need the scars revised. You need to discuss this with your surgeon to see what he can do to help you.

Breast implants with mastopexy is a commonly done operation but it comes with problems in that the weight of the implant pushing against the breast uplift surgical scar tends to make the breast tissues stretch and it seems as though you had some problem with wound healing again, no doubt due to the amount of stretch and pressure on wound.  In my view it is often better to separate the 2 operations by 6-12 months rather than try to combine them at the same time.

Your implants are too large for your tissue and frame. You need to go smaller for them to appear more round and natural.  Plus, smaller will be less likely to sag again.
