you can definitely get that safely. narrowed that amount; however, it may be one of the things where you have to stage it (do it in 2 procedures) depending on how much tissue needs to be excised and how easily it redrapes.

Unfortunately, the photos you have included do not allow optimal assessment. However, in general, an ideal alar base width would be equal to your intercanthal distance, i.e., the distance between the inner corners of your eyes.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. A surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Fascial grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. Alar base reduction can be performed at the same time. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

You need to know 3 different and distinct concepts:
-alar base reduction: to reduce the protruding flare of the alae (of with you have practically none)
-nostril sill reduction: to reduce the vestible of the nasal entry (I believe this is what you are looking for and I agree may benefit you)
-a combination of both, something we sometimes apply

If the surgeon chooses wrongly from those options, you'll get irreversible deformities and very likely, due to your ethnic background, keloids.

I may suggest you consider surgery, as well, on your tip, may really benefit you.

You can reduce the nostrils quite significantly. However keep in mind it is irreversible. You should discuss in detail with your surgeon so there are no surprises. I am always conservative with my alarplasties. A few times I had to go back down the road and take some more off but never had the situation of too much narrowing.
