Is raising the tip and shortening the nose difficult in revision rhinoplasty? (Photo)

Revision rhinoplasty is always harder than primary rhinoplasty because of the scar tissue. But looking at your photo, it is certainly possible to shorten your nose and raise your tip with a revision if that is what you want. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultaion.

Generally, raising the tip and shortening the nose is much easier than the opposite, since cartilage strut grafts aren't necessary. Obviously this has to be done carefully to ensure a nice lift without excessive nostril show. Minimal bruising should result since no osteotomies are required.

By "shortening" the nose, do you mean bringing the tip of the nose back closer to the face? Seems your nose might benefit from that movement. It's called "de-projection," because you're decreasing the forward projection of the tip.
Shortening and deprojecting a tip are two of the more predictable changes to make in a rhinoplasty, even a revision. The problem is that only a small percentage of rhinoplasty surgeons have the skill to make it happen. You need to see before and after photos and check out your surgeon very carefully before proceeding.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you are a great candidate for rhinoplasty. Maneuvers for your surgery would include dorsal hump reduction, tip refinement, nasal tip deprojection, tip elevation, among other maneuvers..
