I will be getting periareolar incision in a few weeks and was wondering if it was ok to lift my arms ie to put on clothing over my head etc after surgery as It will not be the cut in the breast crease?
Answer: Lifting Arms For specific post operative instructions, you should always ask your surgeon. I allow my patients a slow full range of motion with all breast surgeries. You should be able to shower normally, dress yourself, etc.

Answer: Lifting my arms after periareolar lift - is it okay? I would guess that it would be fine to do this using careful, gentle motions. I would confirm this with your surgeon as he or she may have reasons to strictly limit your activity.

Answer: Lifting arms Yes, you will be able to lift your arms to dress/undress after surgery but you want to make sure to protect from using the pectoral muscles. Typically patients find it easier to wear looser fitting clothing or shirts that button up the front during their initial recovery. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon who will provide further instruction.

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear Passionate315742, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.
