Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Both implants will be able to achieve your goal. The difference between the two is very little but what is important is how they fit into your current dimensions. A virtual simulation may be helpful.
I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what is right for them. Dear kakacarmen, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thanks for your question! I usually suggest that if my patients are torn between two sizes, they go with the larger of the two. Based on the wish pic you have, I think the 270 will get you closer to your goals. Best of luck!
What makes the choice for the size of the implant is the width of your breasts. Once you are measured by your surgeon, then the choices will be between a Moderate Classic profile or a Moderate Plus profile if you chose a natural look. On the manufacturing catalogue, your doctor needs to find the implant that corresponds to your breast width. That would be the correct cc.
Either implant size should look nice on your frame. The difference of 30cc will not be very noticeable size wise, but one may fit the breast pocket better. In my practice I use sizers during surgery to determine the appropriate implant based on how it fits the available space. I've included a video I hope you find helpful.
Both should do well, but the 270 might look better on most women. Go for consultation and try on both sizes so you can see how each looks.
It’s not appropriate for us to tell you what implant size to use.It depends what you’re trying to achieve.I suggest you talk to your provider about implant selection. If you don’t have a provider, then I suggest scheduling multiple in person consultations. Each plastic surgeon will have their own way of guiding patients through implant selection. Some providers do this better than others. I always recommend patients have multiple consultations before selecting the provider. There are three variables that determine quality breast augmentation outcomes. These are patient candidacy, implant, selection, and provider selection.Since implant selection goes hand and hand with input from the provider selection this is in the end by far the most important variable. The biggest mistake patients make is having only one consultation which pretty much eliminates the ability to choose the better provider.Good luck with your procedure.M Hagstrom MD
The best place to begin is a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you. Here your surgeon will examine you, discuss your concerns, and you can learn more about options. Typical options to address asymmetry are reduction of the larger breast to better match the larger breast...
It is unusual for pain to occur so long after your surgery. Please see your surgeon for an assessment.
The issue that concerns you may be related to your pregnancy. The breast tissue undergoes changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding and then changes again afterwards. The tissues may have thinned, allowing the edges of the implant to be seen.
