I recently sustained an injury to the breast where my breast shrunk/contracted and I am left with noticeable asymmetry. Mammography and US are normal. What reconstruction options do I have?
Answer: Asymmetry The best place to begin is a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you. Here your surgeon will examine you, discuss your concerns, and you can learn more about options. Typical options to address asymmetry are reduction of the larger breast to better match the larger breast and then adding implants to achieve the desired volume. Or you can add differently sized implants to help accommodate for the difference in size.

Answer: Reconstruction for asymmetry Dear ParkyParkington, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Some minor asymmetry can be improved with fat transfer, others will need breast implant.s If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
