I had under the muscle gummy implants in 2019. A few years ago I noticed the 'lump' in my cleavage area, operating doc said "put on 5 lbs". I had a baby 2 years ago (not my first, but first since BA), and am now 5 lbs less than pre-surgery/pregnancy and am noticing more distortion in shape. Is this really all weight related, did pregnancy cause something to happen, is something going on with them?
Answer: Breasts Pregnancy does change your breasts and usually it stretches and then shrinks. Now you have less tissue in that area and the implant is showing through with ripples. Ask your surgeon if fat grafting in that area would be helpful. If not, consider going somewhat smaller and doing a possible lift. You are bottoming out from the weight of these implants which stretches and pulls even more.

Answer: Rippling The issue that concerns you may be related to your pregnancy. The breast tissue undergoes changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding and then changes again afterwards. The tissues may have thinned, allowing the edges of the implant to be seen.

Answer: Gummy Silicone implant shape distortion Dear Vivid9286, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Post pregnancy denting, immediate breast, post implants. Based on your nicely posted photos and you were post pregnancy, the result can be directly related to the enlarging of your breast during pregnancy, and then the reduction from post pregnancy, giving a indented appearance or a split capsule at that area. Best to get an MRI or ultrasound to determine exactly what the issue is in that area. Option is fat grafting under ultrasound versus repair of capsule as an open surgical procedure. Best virtual consult with with.

Answer: Rippling implants and weight loss It looks like you’re having rippling of your implants that’s visible through the skin. This can happen when the skin envelope is very thin with very little subcutaneous breast tissue or fat.Rippling is decreased by using silicone implants and tends to happen less frequently with low profile implants. If the tissue envelope over the implant is very thin and there are a few options available. Sometimes fat transfer can be helpful. Another option may be to place a sheet of alloderm or other cadaver dermal product. If 90% of someone’s breast is implant, then the breast sometimes it looks like an implant and implants sometimes ripple. Your condition is not easy or straightforward. Some improvements may be possible, but there is also something to be said about leaving good enough alone and not having repeat revisions. Adding a layer of tissue and lowering implant profile would be two possible treatment options. Whether it’s worth having more surgery is another question. Your situation requires an in person assessment to give you a quality recommendation. I suggest having second opinion in person consultations with other providers in your community. For second opinion, consultations come prepared bring with you a complete set of proper before and after pictures and copies of your previous operative reports. And These can be requested from your current providers office. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
