Thread lifts are no longer done because they are ineffective and complication-prone. Fat transfer is done and needs to be done by an experienced injector particularly in the face.
The thread lift is not a good procedure to have done, because it has been ineffective and has had many complications. It also did not last long. Fat Transfer to the face is a much better option and the results after 3-4 months are usually permanent. Please do your homework and see a plastic surgeon who has done a large number of fat transfers to the face. Patients are happy with the look they get from fat. Best wishes to you.
Thread lift had its 15 minutes of fame and disappeared because of bad results, infections, and extrusion of the thread and short lived results. Done by people who do not know and are not trained to do a facelift just for financial gain.
Although facial fat transfer is a great surgery that can work wonders for some people, thread lifts are a procedure that should be considered a fad. Approximately 10 years ago thread lifts became popular as a very easy way to lift the face. However these procedures did not appear to have any significant longevity. Although the threads were often permanent, the results would last only a year, at most. So I encourage you to do your research on this procedure prior to having it done. Good luck!
Your most important decision is choosing your doctor. Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon who has experience and demonstrated excellent results with before-and-after pictures. The overall long-term satisfaction from a thread lift is not great. Consider all surgical options, which can be delivered by a talented board-certified plastic surgeon.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
Fat injection is a good technique to correct contour problems. It can be used in the nose but the presence of scar tissue from previous surgery sometimes limits its usefulness. You should consult with a plastic surgeon experienced in this type of surgery to get an opinion.
Thank you for your picture and question. From the appearance in the picture, you may be a candidate for fat injection to fill the area in question. I would also advise you that before pursuing something permanent like fat injection, you might want to consider temporary injectables such as HA...
This may be due to fat atrophy or cellulite in the area. Fillers, fat and/or cellulite teatments like subcision/cellfina would help. There are also devices like velashape and venus legacy that may help. Best, Dr. Emer.
