Dear NiaNia305,every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Waiting 6 months after you have stopped breastfeeding will ensure that you’ve given your body enough time to shed the extra pregnancy weight and for your hormones to return to normal.
This is usually not an inconvenient for getting liposuction unless you getting surgery on this area, this will avoid the chance of getting an infection . I reccomend you to speak with your plastic surgeon so he can tell you the specific reason why he does recommend it. Good luck!
The recommendation to stop breastfeeding before undergoing liposuction is primarily for safety reasons. Liposuction typically involves the use of anesthesia and the injection of fluids and medications. These substances can potentially be passed on to the infant through breast milk, which may pose risks to the baby’s health. To ensure the safety of both mother and child, it is generally advised to discontinue breastfeeding for at least six months before undergoing liposuction. Always consult with your healthcare provider for specific guidance and to discuss the best course of action for your individual situation.
Hello, if you are currently breastfeeding and planning to get liposuction, you may have to stop before the procedure. There are numerous reasons why it is important to stop breastfeeding before getting liposuction.1. You have to be away from baby for several hours. If you are feeding the baby on demand, it can be challenging. 2. Breastfeeding increases blood flow to the breast tissue which makes it difficult to remove the fat during the procedure.3. Your body is still recovering from pregnancy and childbirth. Therefore, you may feel tired and weak.4. You may be given a compression garment to wear while sleeping. This will prevent fluid build-up in the breasts. It is recommended to discuss with your physician whether you should continue or discontinue breastfeeding before undergoing any cosmetic surgery.
Hello Dear !When patients give breastfeeding, you lose weight. One point is this. For every cosmetic surgery, you have to persistent weight at least 6 months.
If you want liposuction on your breasts, you need to stop breast feeding for at least 6 months so your breasts can settle back down to their now normal state. If you want liposuction elsewhere, then you can breast feed close to the time of the procedure, then pump and dump until all medications are no longer in your system to give to your child.
It’s plastic surgeon will have their own set of rules and regulations. Unless you’re having breast surgery breast-feeding should not be a major contraindication though we typically recommend patient’s pump and dump to not transfer medication‘s given during surgery to the child. If you want to know why a specific surgeon has restrictions you will need to ask that provider specifically.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Usually the arm "bat wing" or "flab" as you have described is a combination of excess skin and fat. The best solution would include liposuction combined with an excisional procedure (this is called a brachioplasty). I would recommend seeing a board-certified or board-eligible plastic surgeon...
Both liposuction and BodyTite are effective treatments for reducing excess fat and improving the contour of flabby arms. However, the best option for you depends on various factors, including your specific anatomy, skin laxity, and aesthetic goals. Here's a comparison of liposuction and BodyTite...
