Breast augmentation newbie - what ccs do you suggest? (Photos)

Unfortunately, the larger the implant you choose, the less 'natural' they will appear, so some people have to compromise between choosing the size they want or limiting it to look softer. Having said that, I've almost never heard someone complain that they look fake, but have heard many wish they went bigger. Proper planning (implant selection) and execution of the surgery makes the difference between a 3% and a 30% risk of reoperation within three years, so choosing an expert is important. The problem is it seems everyone does breast augmentation, but few are experts. In Georgia, there are a few good surgeons you can rely on. Implant selection should not be by committee on a platform like Realself. The two most accurate ways to determine your volumetric requirements to obtain your goal is either using purpose built sizers or by digital simulation photography. My preference is sizing, something I've been doing for 18 of my 22 years in practice and it has virtually eliminated what I like to call wrong size surgery.

The type of breast implant can be selected taking into consideration the shape of the breast that the patient wants and the breast form each patient has. It is necessary to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon, not only to choose the right prosthesis, but also to know where it will be placed in front of the muscle, behind the muscle, behind the muscle fascia, and some other pertinent information for the breast augmentation. The size, placement and type of implant are always best determined after an evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon who can take measurements and get an idea of what your specific goals are. Your best implant size cannot be determined by your pictures and description alone. You should be seen in person by a well-trained and experienced plastic surgeon who you like, and with them go through the sizing process. In my practice, we talk about your goal cup size (though cup size is far from perfect), measure your breast base width and several other metrics, and do sizing with breast form sizers, which go under a special bra and give you an idea of the look and feel of a breast implant of a certain size on your body. Finally, we look at any "goal" or "wish" photographs you have. Based on all these metrics, we pick a breast implant size and go with it! All of this data and discussion helps you make the most informed choice so we both feel as confident as possible about the size you choose. Best of luck!

That way, you can choose one that will give you what you want without making you look too big or not big enough. I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. How large an implant will work for you depends on the dimensions of your breasts and how much bigger you want to be. When I consult with a patient, I take careful measurements and discuss how much change they want. Then I recommend a range of implants and then they try on sizers in their bra to give them the best way to make a final choice. After all they are your breasts and you should have the final choice. Based on your frame, you should count that one bra cup size should be somewhere between 150-175 ml. So, if you wont to be 2 cups up, implants should be in a range of 300-350 ml.; three cup sizes up would require implants in the range of 500 ml. Your surgeon should have implant sizers, possibly 3D simulation, which can further help you to come to right solution. Hope it helps. Good luck.

breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.
