29 y/o female. 5ft 5inches. 120 lbs. I am a 34B/32C, been told by a surgeon that my breasts are a "good shape and good position" BUT, I would like them bigger...however I have a lot of underlying health issues....chronic UTI/ dry eyes, IBS, endometriosis. BII scares me...so is it too risky for me to have implants, or as I already have these illnesses maybe it wont make a difference? fat transfer/implants? which is safer for me ?

Answer: Implants or Fat Transfer? Hello, Thank you for the question and photos. Breast augmentation using breast implants or fat transfer are both good options, but it's difficult to tell without seeing your photos. Implant size discussion and implant selection is one of the most important steps during your consultation with plastic surgeon. The decision-making process depends on patient’s desires, as well as breast and soft tissue dimensions. Breast lipofilling using fat grafting may require a few sessions (surgeries) to achieve a fuller cleavage, which is an important consideration for many patients. Having condition like UTI or IBS does not directly correlate to BII. I suggest that you seek an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon in order to discuss your goals and concerns for the best cosmetic results. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. Best wishes and good luck. Answer: Implants or Fat Transfer, which is the safer option for me? Hello @AR1808 thank you for your question. For more volume nothing beats a breast augmentation with prostheses. It should be noted that lipotransfer does not replace augmentation mammoplasty with prostheses, since each technique has its own indication and requirements. Breast fat transfer or autologous fat lipoinjection is a natural volume technique that can be applied for aesthetic or restorative purposes and breast augmentation . The best course of action is to consult one or several board certified plastic surgeon for more information and options tailored specifically to your needs. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD FACS
