Can Sculptra be used just to promote collagen production?

I would not recommend using Sculptra as a preventive measure against aging.  The treatment is more suited for people who have existing loss of volume on the face rather than for people in their 20's who are trying to prevent aging.  

Although you are very young, it is not up unusual to see volume loss in your age group in fit and thin individuals. Sculptra is a great, but not the only way to address aging prevention. Thank you for your question. While Sculptra does help with the production of collagen, it is not the ideal preventative. Instead, it is best used to replace volume loss. If you are thinking prevention, Botox and Ultherapy are great to consider. Botox helps with relaxing the muscles, which help smooth wrinkles as well as prevent them. Ultherapy is an ultrasound treatment, which naturally stimulates the production of collagen, showing full results over time. Protecting your skin and replenishing it with proper nutrients is also an important preventative measure. Sculptra does indeed stimulate the production of new collagen.  If you find you are already losing volume, Sculptra can help.  It is a specialized injection so make certain you have treatment with an experienced dermatologist who has had training in Sculptra.

It's great that you're interested in doing preventive measures for your face. Sculptra, however, isn't best for prevention. There should be generalized volume loss in an older face, or facial symmetry imbalances in a younger face for Sculptra to be advisable.Good preventive measures include:wear sunscreen every day and don't purposely sunbathebegin a retinoidconsider Botox for motion-induced lines Be sure to see a physician who is vey experienced with Sculptra.

Sculptra is rarely done at your age, but that is because most people come for treatment after they have noticed significant volume loss. "pre-juventation" is a great way to address the aging process and  my recommendation would be to have an in-person consult with a dermatologist who is an expert with Sculptra in order to determine if you would benefit from that or other treatments which can slow the aging process.Dr. Quenby Erickson

Hi Luiza, I don't recommend Sculptra as a treatment to prevent aging. It's best for correcting Volume loss you've already experienced. It can be that you already had volume loss in your 20s, we have had a few clients in their 20s who have gotten Sculptra for this reason but this is rare.
