What pain medicine do they give you after a BBL in Dominican Republic? Was told they don't have strong pain meds.

I was told that in DR they do not have strong pain medicine like ,hydrocodone, percoset or Vicodin ? And also told that the pain medicine they give is called Diclofenac but I should not take it due to bleeding risk and bruising post surgery.

Thank you for posting your question. I do not know way people say this. There is good medication anywhere in the world. It will depend on what the surgeon prescribes you. So, Percocet is actually hydrocodone with acetaminophen while Vicodin is oxycodone with acetaminophen. I prescribe Oxa-forte for all my patients. Ox-forte is closely retaliated to Vicodin and Percocet because it is actually Codein with Diclofenac.  Plus diclofenac is a pain medication that is actually much stronger then acetaminophen and does not elevate the risks bleeding and bruising. In any case all patients get blood thinners to avoid blood clots. Blood thinners are more prone to produce bleeding then diclofenac and still, this is not a problem at the doses we use. In conclusion... Vicodin, Percocet and Oxa-forte are all very similar medications with very similar results. Just make sure your surgeon prescribes the correct medication.Best of luck on your procedure,Dr. Miguel Mota
