6 months post op, concerned about asymmetry / uneven nostrils. Will this subside or should I consider a revision? (photos)

Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photo It is normal to have uneven swelling. You have thick skin and you need to be patient about the healing process. Hi @Flook143! I would recommend waiting a year before considering a revision rhinoplasty since the nose is still changing. If you are still unhappy after the 1 year mark, I would then consider a revision. Best of luck to you!

After one year, if you still have the same concerns you may look into revision rhinoplasty options. You should Talk to your doctor again and clearly communicate your problems. If your questions continue until the end of the first year, it will be normal to consider a new surgery.

This unevenness on the nostrils is something you need to discuss with your surgeon, although at six months the results can still change – however it is important to know that some of these changes can be permanent.

My own advice would be to wait a full year before considering a revision.

Based on your photo, your right nostril margin appears retracted, or higher, compared to your left side. This may improve somewhat as your swelling continues to resolve. If it remains asymmetrical, microdroplet Silikon-1000 may be considered for improving your nostril symmetry. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph

Hello! Thanks for your questions. I see what you're referring to. It does take time for swelling and the final results to occur after rhinoplasty - more toward 12 months. Things like taping and compressions can help for any asymmetries to a degree in the meantime. After time elapses and you still aren't satisfied with the outcome, then a revision would be warranted. The front view is more challenging to perfect but improvements can be made. It is normal to worry about your outcome but try to trust the process and re-evaluate as the time comes. Hope this helps.
