DCF vs Rib rhino - which procedure would give minimal complications while addressing wide nasal bones and bulbous tip? (photos)

Based on your photos, you appear to have a pleasing nasal profile appearance, so it's not clear why you would consider dorsal augmentation. Well-performed rhinoplasty surgery, and no implant, may be considered for achieving a narrower nasal appearance. A well-executed DCF graft will provide more natural appearing contours without the risk of warping or resorption compared to an en bloc cartilage rib graft. One thing to keep in mind though is that there is a limitation to the amount of tip refinement you can achieve (how small/narrow) depending on the thickness of your skin. Results are very surgeon dependent, so choosing the right surgeon is important. Thank you for your question. I would recommend you proceed cautiously and see a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in rhinoplasty. You have a beautiful face and you want to make sure that your nose ultimately continues to fit your face. There are many options for obtaining the look you want including cartilage from within your nose or even utilizing some of your own fat. Certainly rib and DCF are options but the best result will depend most importantly on what you have in mind as a final result. Sometimes using a morphing program like Mirror's Vectra can help. Hello! DCF can work for nasal bridge augmentation. In your case, you may not need the bridge to be altered significantly. The tip work can be done using septal cartilage if enough is present. A closed approach is an option but is not as precise as open in Asian rhinoplasty in my experience. The risk of complication is low for both procedures but not zero. DCF can appear irregular and rib can warp in younger patients long-term. Hope this helps!
