Hello, i am planning to remove plates and screws from my face ( i hade double jaw surgery 9months ago) But i also underwent rhinoplasty with rib graft in my nose. Unfortunately, the graft had some necrosis and some of them are not survived. So the doctor plans to do the nose revision for me again within 6 month. However, as i previously had double jaw surgery and want to remove the plates and screws I wonder if the removing of these tools will affect the remaining rib graft in my nose?

The rib graft should not be affected by removing the plates and screws from your double jaw surgery.

There is no connectrion with these two procedures; removal of plates from upper and lower jaws will not affect survival of old or new cartilage graft in the nose, unless there is significant infection around plates. Discuss this issue with your surgeon in details before surgery. Good luck.

Removing the plates from your jaws will have absolutely no effect on your nose rib graft. So you don’t need to worry about it

Hi and welcome to our forum!
As I don't visualize the rib graft radiographically, I can't comment on its proximity to the proposed surgical site, but removal of the plates and screws should not interfere with nasal position as the bones are long healed.  However the single radiograph of unknown date does not appear to demonstrate bony integration at the apparent LeFort 3 fracture site (the maxilla appears free floating). 3D imaging may be required before removing the hardware.
