Asymmetry, flared nostrils, drooping tip, and flat wide nose when smiling. Will alarplasty help? (Photos)

Greetings! I’m researching procedures to improve the overall Appearance of my nose. Please note I do not have breathing difficulties. Areas of concern: 1 - Assymetry (one side is higher) 2 - Flared nostrils 3 - tip drooping 4 - flat, wide nose when smiling Your time and expertise is much appreciated. Scar underneath my nose is from recent lip lift (3 ms post).

Without a photo and what you have in mind it is difficult to answer your specific question. Through an alarplasty incision, alar rim grafts can be place which can lower the alar rim, change the shape from round to more linear, and strengthen the ala.

You can certainly have rhinoplasty to address only the tip, while leaving the bridge alone. No osteotomies are needed so there's minimal to no bruising. It's still a surgery, but much less invasive than a full rhinoplasty. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.

You are a good candidate for alarplasty. The minimum time you should wait to get alarplasty is 3 months after your rhinoplasty but the preferred wait time is one year. Your nose will continue to change for a whole year. There is likely some swelling in the tip and will get better over time....
