Can it be capsular contracture if it’s moved up an inch in a year but still doesn’t feel too firm? (Photos)

Hello and thank you for your question. While a capsular contracture may cause a change in the shape or position of the implant, it is very unlikely to do so without also increasing implant firmness. Without a physical examination it is difficult to tell, but it seems more likely that the implant on the left has remained in position after repair with Galaflex while the implant on the right has descended because of a thin capsule and poor soft tissue support. I recommend following up with your Plastic Surgeon for a physical examination to better define the cause of your asymmetry . Good luck.

I just did a case like you today. The patient had multiple surgeries for cap con with other doctors, all performed through a nipple incision. I did a total capsulectomy today through and inframammary incision and placed mesh. She will unlikely have a recurrence, and you will too if you have your surgeon do the inframammary fold.

Your lower side is bottoming out and needs the inferior pocket tightened. You might even need mesh. I would suggest going down in size since your tissue is not supporting the weight of your current implant. Your higher side is fine, but is a little large for your frame.

Based on the photos and your description appears you have a slowly forming capsule again, sorry. Best of virtual consult with. Expect to use a cellular derma matrix as you mentioned either brand or brands that are available suffice. But expect fees to be increased because of the cost of these materials.
