I've had 360cc breast implants for 3 years now. When i woke up today i saw there was a red patch by my nipple on my right breast which feels like it's bruised. after i came out of the shower i started to see some red lines around my whole breast. I'm wondering is this an emergency situation or will it go away?
Answer: Breasts You may have an infection and need to be seen immediately and placed on antibiotics. Do not delay, or the implant may need to be removed. Have you had a recent dental appointment or infection elsewhere?

Answer: Implant Concerns Thank you for your question. The symptoms you’re describing may indicate an infection or an implant rupture. While rare, a delayed infection around the implant can occur years after surgery, possibly due to dormant bacteria or a new infection. Treatment may involve antibiotics, and in severe cases, surgical intervention might be necessary to address an abscess or an infected implant. Additionally, redness and discomfort may be related to capsular contracture or, less commonly, a silicone implant rupture. If these issues are causing significant symptoms, surgical revision may be required. I recommend calling your surgeon or doctor to discuss your symptoms in detail, and if possible, share photos. They may suggest an urgent in-person evaluation. In the meantime, please avoid wearing tight bras or clothing until you have been assessed.

Answer: Red patches/lines Dear randomnameee, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Redness on breast 3 yrs post augmentation Thank you for your question. The redness around the nipple and the vascular streaking certainly look like an infection and should be evaluated urgently. This looks like a mastitis, which is an infection of the the breast tissue itself, vs an implant-related infection. You should see your primary care or an urgent care facility so they can take a look and potentially get you on some antibiotics if appropriate. Best of luck.

Answer: Postop over three years breast implant acute change of skin color with redness options Based on your post of photos, my first question why have you not tried to contact your original surgeon? Then why not try to do a second opinion consultation with the local board-certified Plastic Area there are many? Thirdly try a virtual consult but most likely any board certified. Plastic Surgeon would want to see you in person to get a more detailed history and physical examination and possible mammogram or ultrasound. This appears to be some kind of dermatologic issue, but always best to rule out other possibilities. Good luck…
