Best ways to keep the bone from growing back after rhinoplasty?

I'm going in for my second nose surgery because after my first one, the bridge of my nose grew a sharper boney hump. I had steroid injections and in office rasping after the first one and my doctor and I agreed getting a second surgery. I'm just wondering if there's any extra stuff that I can do to help keep the bone from growing back again.

The short answer is no; the body is a living organism with each important structure encased by a protective layer.  The layer over bone - the periosteum - can often thicken after surgery, or supply nutrients to the bone that was rasped to grow new bone.  Minor irregularities can be corrected in the office and these can be very common occurrences.

It's important to know that bone and cartilage are living tissue and respond accordingly by trying to repair itself. The result of this can be an occasional irregularity across the bridge which must be shaved down  with a touch-up procedure. There's nothing you can do to prevent bone regrowth when it happens. Every busy rhinoplasty surgeon deals with this issue.
