How long should I wait to be off Accutane before getting Juvederm lip fillers?

There is no known risk of combining accutane and fillers.  Some physicians avoid surgical procedures with accutane; however, this is likely unnecessary.  Some laser procedures have been reported to have increased risk of complications with accutane; however, this data is also now in question to its relevance today. 

There is no need to wait before having lip fillers done when going off of Accutane. Accutane is not a contraindication to dermal fillers, only surgical procedures and skin resurfacing procedures such as chemical peels or laser resurfacing. Be sure to see a board-certified dermatologist for any lip filler treatments for the best results.

You can inject Juvederm, Restylane or any other filler you like while you're on Accutane or after. Accutane reduces skin healing, and so this is mainly an issue with acne scar laser resurfacing which should be delayed after a course of accutane from 6-12 months. No issue getting filler right away in your case.

Thanks for your question.  Accutane should not be a contraindication for subcutaneous fillers.  It is more a problem in any procedure which requires actual tissue healing or regeneration.  These include many surgicalprocedures, as well as chemical peels/laser treatments.

There is no need to wait between Accutane therapy and lip fillers. Cosmetic procedures such as lasers and peels need a 6 month waiting period once Accutane is stopped. However, fillers in the lips do not require this.
