Can lip injections go unnoticed?

Question

I am looking to get my lips done, but nothing too dramatic in fact, I wouldn't want anything that would draw attention to my face. I have family that is completely against lip injections and fillers so I plan on not telling anyone that I am planning to get fillers. My goal is to get a very slight pout and more symmetrical lips. I would like it to look a lot nicer and cleaner when I put on dark lipsticks. How much filled would I need to achieve this?

Great question!  You have nice full lips to begin with so getting the results you desire will not take too much product.  You can ask your injector to start off with half of a syringe and see how you like the results, you can always put more if you desire.  Just remember that you could have some swelling for about 2-3 days after the injections so make sure you time it correctly when you see family.Good luck and hope this information helps!- Dr. Roger Tsai

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  I do not think you will need much filler to create a pout or more symmetry, certainly less than one syringe of the hyaluronic acid fillers.  Even with conservative amounts of filler being placed it will be difficult to have treatment go unnoticed as some swelling will also occur.  Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon in consultation for treatment.

Unnoticed? So why would you want to do it? The whole idea is that you want some volume augmentation.  Your lips actually look nice even now.  I would not recommend any filler based on the fullness you already have.  If you are going to do it then do it right and make people notice! Thank you for your question.You have fuller lips to begin with, so you do not need a lot of filler.  I would just be very specific with your injector on what it is you want and maybe even take some photos in with you.  Depending on the place that you go, they may even let you only use half of the syringe and save the rest for a separate visit.  Good luck on your decision.

Hello, and thanks for your question. Your lips are already nice and full, so you will not require much product at all. Swelling and bruising are common. An experienced injector can give you a real but subtle result. To maximize the likelihood of a favorable outcome, I recommend that you only get treated by a well-trained and experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Hope this opinion is helpful to you. Thanks for the good question!  You can always just get part of a syringe of filler injected instead of the entire syringe.  You may not need much since you have nice full lips already.  Just be aware that you will have some swelling for a few days so give yourself that healing time before seeing your family if you don't want it to be noticed.  Enjoy your new lips!!

You already have beautiful full lips and I don't feel you need any injections. If however you want them filled, make sure you are conservative and no more than 1 syringe between both the top and bottom lips.
