I would like to add a little more tip to the front of my nose. Is this a realistic / achievable goal? How long does it typically take to heal from a closed tip grafting surgery?
Answer: Rhinoplasty through a closed technique In person exam is essential. Based on your posted photos- it appears that you would benefit from Rhinoplasty preferably through closed technique - to address all of the elements of the nose. In the right hands you can expect a more refined, more feminine nose. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS

Answer: I Recommend Open Septorhinoplasty | Plastic Surgery | Rhinoplasty Expert | Surgical | Nose Job | Rib Graft | Septoplasty Hello and thank you for your question and the pictures. Addressing the shape of the nose (particularly the nasal tip) is actually one of the most common reasons people seek out and undergo a rhinoplasty. An open septorhinoplasty (rather than closed) can best address your nose, and is particularly effective at addressing the size, shape, and definition! Unfortunately closed just would not allow for the maneuvers needed to achieve what you're looking for, and anyone telling you otherwise is doing you a disservice. This truly a surgery of millimeters- and whether you're looking for a minor adjustment or a major transformation, it requires exceptional surgical skill to achieve natural-looking results! Because your nose is the DEFINING feature of your face- I would only recommend seeing a surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty procedures, and who has significant training and experience performing these surgeries. I actually trained under one of the world leading rhinoplasty experts (who performs 1,000+ nosejobs annually). I recommend for you to setup a formal consultation with me (or another plastic surgeon who is extremely comfortable with rhinoplasties) to thoroughly discuss your surgical goals, undergo a formal examination, evaluate your options, and develop a personalized plan just for you. I hope this helps! Dr. Donald Groves Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Tip grafting may be difficult in those with thin nasal skin. It's not clear what you are looking to achieve when you say that you would like to add a little bit more tip on the front of your nose. It is clear from your photos however that you appear to have thin nasal skin. And our experience, tip grafting can sometimes lead to a nasal appearance that is that have thin nasal skin. Please feel free to re-ask your question where you can describe what you are looking to achieve from an aesthetic standpoint. Or consider Consulting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists who offer computer Imaging. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Tip Grafting A rhinoplasty surgeon can certainly add definition and projection to your nose, both with suture techniques as well as cartilage grafting. I disagree with some other comments that seem to indicate cartilage grafting to the tip makes noses bigger -- that is absolutely not true when carved correctly and in an expert's hands. Wanting this done with a closed technique is more challenging, and very few rhinoplasty surgeons (even experts) perform closed tip rhinoplasty. The benefits of closed tip include no external incisions, but then again I've never had a patient who thought their columellar incision scar was noticeable at the 12 month mark. The most important piece of your rhinoplasty journey (in my opinion) is that you find an expert surgeon you trust. If the two of you can come up with a shape and plan you love, that's most important. Their technique (closed versus open, ultrasonic versus cold steel, etc, etc) is far secondary to that first element. Swelling can persist for up to 1 year after rhinoplasty, although probably 80% is gone by 6 months after surgery. Hope this is helpful!
