Rhinoplasty ten years ago - Revision Rhinoplasty or Liquid Nose Job?

Question

Hi I had a rhinoplasty over ten years ago and it didn’t turn out quite as I had hoped. One side of my nose is great but the other side has a cartlidge bump which you can also see from the front. It also looks like I have a little ball on the top of my nose. I really don’t want to have a revision as it is costly and I am scared it’ll get worse. I am considering maybe filler but I know that is temporary. Not sure what I should do. Appreciate the help!

Hello @Lounma, thank you for your question. If you are hesitant to undergo another surgery, there are non-surgical options available. Rhinomodelation with hyaluronic acid can address minor nose imperfections, such as bumps or irregularities. Hyaluronic acid fillers are injected into the nose to smooth out irregularities and create symmetry. The results are temporary up to 6 months approximately. The hump can be camouflaged and improve the nasal tip projection. This procedure requires precise adjustment to achieve the desired effect. If you are looking for a more permanent solution, a revision rhinoplasty may be the best option for you. Thank you for your question and photos. Dermal fillers are often used in place of revision surgery in what is commonly referred to as non-surgical rhinoplasty, or a liquid nose job. The filler can be strategically administered to reduce the appearance of bumps and asymmetries, with results lasting for a year or more in some patients. If you decide you’d prefer a more long-term solution, the bumps you’re referring to can be shaved down with nasal rasps during revision rhinoplasty.

Keep in mind that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support, scar tissue, and other factors. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced injector or board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your surgical history, assess your concerns, and help you decide on the best treatment option.

Based on your photos, you appear to have thin nasal skin and an indentation involving your right nasal tip. Depending on your examination, Microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections may be considered for camouflaging the deep nasal indent of your right tip. I hope this is helpful! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Hello! Thank you for your question.From the photos you provided I can say that in the overall your nose looks great. As you said there are some imperfections (mostly on the tip) and the nasal bridge looks wide as well. The best way to achieve your expectation is to get a revision rhinoplasty. I can understand that you have some fear about a revision surgery, but believe me if you get it done with an experienced doctor who has done many revision cases you will be happy with the result. The post-op would be very similar to your first rhinoplasty surgery. Anyway I don't recommend filler or any temporary procedure since there are high risks.Best regards!
