Nonsurgical cheek augmentation using volumizing fillers, such as Radiesse Plus, Voluma XC, and Resylane Lyft (which I would use in my Upper East Side Manhattan office) and Stylage XXL, Emervel Volume, and Teosyal Ultra Deep (which I would use in my Israel satellite facility where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved volumizing fillers are available) takes only about fifteen to twenty minutes to perform and typically engenders an immediate "Wow!" response. When appropriate, as seems to be the case here, volume to provide cheekbone projection can be supplied as well as volume repletion for contouring to the deflated upper and inner portion of the cheek and submalar (midcheek) regions.Consultation with a board certified aesthetic physician with experience and expertise in nonsurgical cheek augmentation is strongly suggested. Make sure to ask to see his/her before and after photos.
Thank you for your pictures. In my opinion, you can either have a cheek implant or a filler like Voluma®. Please seek consultation from a board certified plastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon or a dermatologist.
You have many options, I suggest seeing a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon for a formal evaluation and who can go over all the options with you. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for the photos. Your "flat face" is due to a relatively recessed maxilla. This is not unusual in Asian faces. You have many options from relatively invasive surgery to minimalist treatments such as fillers and in between. I would recommend consulting with a PS with maxillofacial background so that you get the full panopoly of available options.
The finding in most asian patients is not that they have a prominent mouth or alveolar maxilla. They typically have a flattened anterior and lateral cheek. This can easily be treated with fillers for the cheek or an Implant which can be placed through the mouth.
Cheek implants offer a permanent solution to augment the maxilla and cheeks. Cheek implants are manufactured in a variety of sizes and shapes, are composed of Silastic, and are inserted through a intra--oral approach under a brief general anesthetic as an outpatient surgical procedure. The cheek implants can also the custom carved when needed to fit patient's pertinent structural anatomy. Fillers work well on a temporary basis.
Thank for your posting the photos. It appears that Voluma or Sculptra would be ideal to give your cheeks a more natural lift. Sculptra would take several sessions but would build up your body's own collagen and last up to two years. Please consult an experienced board certified dermatologist for the best cosmetic results.
Hi, based upon the attached photos, you are correct that your face is flat and also round. Women's faces appear the most attractive when the face is heart-shaped. The photos reveal very flat cheeks anteriorly (in the front) with excess fatty tissue in front and below the cheeks as well as lax facial tissues and jowls. The chin is weak and there is excess fat and skin below the chin. IMHO the following procedures would make your face more heart-shaped, feminine and naturally attractive. Pushing the mandible back will only accentuate the weak lower face and would not be aesthetically pleasing.Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler (I prefer Perlane) or using cheek implants for a more permanent enhancement. Micro-liposuction of the excess fat to further shape and define the cheeks. This will shape the cheeks and feminize the entire face.Chin augmentation with a chin implant to add harmony and balance to the lower face.Facelift to remove excess loose skin.If you have "jowls" this is sagging facial tissues and an indication for some form of a facelift, not Cheek Augmentation. I have performed many Cheek Augmentations over the past 25 years and the notion that Cheek Implants or dermal fillers to the cheeks will lift tissues is an urban myth. Filler to the cheeks or cheek implants will not lift up the jowls. The underlying SMAS layer, of the face, must be dissected, lifted, trimmed and re-sutured (not merely folded or suspended with threads or sutures that will not last). The excess skin is then removed and the facelift incisions closed. My most popular facelift is the minimally invasive, short incision facelift that has all the benefits of more invasive facelifts (traditional, mid-face and subperiosteal facelifts) but with these added benefits:very small incisionsminimal tissue dissection = less bruising and swelling = rapid recoverycan be performed in 90 minutes or less, with or without general anesthesiano incisions within the hair = no hair lossexcess fat can be removedexcess skin removedcheeks, chin and jaw line can be augmented with dermal fillers (I prefer Perlane) or facial implantsmost patients fly back home to parts all over the world in as little as 3 days post-opHope this helps.
Implants are permanent, however fillers can markedly improve your facial features. In this area I prefer to use a combination of Voluma Juvederm and Volift. I normally perform this type of filler in two stages- one to build the foundations, and the second to contour your cheekbones. This is an advanced procedure, I suggest you see a Plastic Surgeon or a Dermatologist who regularly performs advanced filling. Dr Davin LimLaser and aesthetic dermatologistBrisbane, Australia
A chin implant and fillers such as Voluma or cheek implants will improve your facial contours and definition. Consult with a surgeon who uses all these techniques because you do have multiple choices.
