I'm planning on getting this procedure done in late November. Will I be able to participate in Holiday activiites? How much time do i need to take off from work? How about flying?
Answer: Breast Fat Transfer - Downtime I appreciate your question. No strenuous activity for 4-6 weeks. Please check with operating surgeon as they should have specific post op instructions that may let you resume light exercise earlier. You will need to wear your compression garments for 8 weeks. No flying for 4 weeks if possible. 2 weeks if a must. Best to get clearance from operating surgeon on all.The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative breast surgery.best of luck!Dr Schwartz

Answer: Recovery time after fat transfer to the breasts This should be discussed with your surgeon as we all have different variations of instructions. In general, down time after fat transfer is 1-2 weeks. Light normal activities can start at that point. More strenuous activities should be withheld for 4-6 weeks depending on swelling and how you are feeling and after a clearance by your doctor. Flying can resume at that time and after an examination and clearance by your surgeon. An in-person exam with a board-certified plastic surgeon is the best way to assess your needs and provide true medical advice. Best of luck. Dr. Michael Omidi

Answer: Recovery from fat grafting breasts and liposuction The only restrictions I have on my patients are to avoid bouncy activities for 3 weeks as continued movements can diminish the take of the fat grafts. As for liposuction, if you're wearing your compression garment, you can do as you please.

Answer: Downtime for fat transfer Most people are back at work and the gym 2-3 days following fat transfer to the breasts. The incisions are so small that it is mainly soreness which limits return to normal function. Half the swelling is gone by 6 weeks. Women love the procedure: perkier fuller breats and flatter tummys/flanks/thighs!!

Answer: Fat grafting to breast Thanks for your question. Most of the recovery from the procedure is related to the liposuction needed to get the fat. Usually it leaves the area a bit sore and swollen. If all goes well, you should easily be able to participate in holiday activities a month later. Time for work always depends on what you do for a living. Most people can return to work the following day.You should always ask these questions to the surgeon who will be performing your surgery however. Every office will have specific instructions for after care.Good luck.
