Filler in chin is UNEVEN? Should I get it dissolved? I received 1 syringe of Voluma. (Photos)

Question

It was mainly focused on my jawline but a tiny amount was added to my chin. my chin is now in a lot of pain the day of the procedure several hours after. My chin is crooked on one side, on that same side it hurts a lot more. I did press on that side to try and fix the filler in the beginning like I was instructed. I was told it wouldn't shift much after injected. My main question for you is, will it remain uneven? OR do we believe that is swelling.

If you received your filler recently, be aware that you might be swollen for a couple of weeks and aren’t actually looking at your results. Fillers usually aren’t very painful, so I’m not sure why you experienced so much discomfort, either. If your face doesn’t even out after two weeks, be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert with fillers to dissolve the excess with hyaluronidase.

Hi and thank you for your question! Swelling following the filler is very common and it can present as uneven or otherwise undesirable look. While the swelling gradually gets better from day 2-3, it might take up to 2 weeks to fully subside and hence, you should not be concerned with the look during the first two weeks as what you see is mostly the swelling. This being said, pain and tenderness following filler is not that common so if you are experiencing substantial pain that is persisting beyond a few hours following the filler, you might want to do a follow up with your injector. Otherwise, please allow two weeks to pass and by then if you have any concerns with the look, do a follow up with your injector. I hope it helps and good luck!

I'm not sure when you had your injections, but it can take up to 2 weeks for final results with filler. I would wait a full 2 weeks before assessing results. If it's after 2 weeks and you're unhappy with your result, it can be reversed with hyaluronidase. Hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry that your current results have not been what you anticipated.  Unfortunately without knowing the timing since treatment it is difficult to offer definite advice.  If within 2-3 weeks I would allow your results time to mature. What you are seeing may be either tissue swelling or deep seated bruise causing the irregularity and pain.  If it has been over this period of time I would recommend possible dissolution of the chin filler with hyaluronidase.  Hope this helps.

It is normal to feel tenderness and soreness within the first 24 to 48 hours after dermal filler has been injected in to the area.  However if it has been more than a couple of days and you still feel pain then I recommend that you go back and see your medical provider.  For the unevenness and hallow give this filler a week to settle and then you can get more product injected to bring the area as close to symmetry as possible.

If this procedure was done over 2 weeks ago, I recommend seeing your provider to either add more filler to the hollow side or dissolve the fuller side to achieve symmetry. However, if done prior to that timeline, I recommend to wait for all the inflammation to subside.

Thanks for your question. If it has been one month since your first treatment it may be best to have some filler placed in the hollow to correct it- otherwise leaving it to settle will help as it integrates with your natural tissue

easy. You just need some more filler in the hollow side. You never get perfect symmetry because the back of the jaw may be different side to side, but it will be a lot better.
